Myrtle Beach, SC - Brenden Queen once again flexed his muscles in the CorvetteParts.net Super Late Model Tour this past Monday night picking up win number six of the season. With just two races remaining before a champion is crowned Queen hit for the cycle - for all of you baseball fans out there - toping the speed chart in practice, won his fourth pole of the season, led flag to flag, and picked up the victory.

Queen was the only driver in the field to eclipse a sub eighteen-second lap during qualifying time trials, clocking in at an impressive 17.983-seconds or 100.09 MPH. Teammate Colby Vance was hot on his heels and earned the right to start along side of the current points leader. Shawn Pierce, Travis Wall and Austin Davis rounded out the top five starters.

Queen yet again jumped out to an early lead when the green flag was displayed and immediately started to set a pretty fast pace. Vance was able to tuck in behind the Chesapeake, VA driver and hang tough for the duration of the race but was never able to make a move to the lead. Steven Burnett, who entered and excited the weekend second in points, gave it all he had the first half of the race but found himself three or more seconds of the leaders at any given time.

The race appeared to have the same qualities as the week before at Martinsville, guys getting settled into a rhythm and really saving tires seeings how there is a no tire or fuel rule, and we looked to go caution free. That, however, changed just past halfway when Jesse Call entered turn three a little hot for his car to handle and got into the back of Shawn Pierce, ultimately spinning him. Pierce would “recover” and try to salvage a good finish but it was one thing after another and ultimately ended up loosing an engine.

The old saying in racing that cautions breed cautions once again proved itself true when two more yellows were displayed on lap ninety and ninety-six after Burnett got a piece of Colby Vance on the restart into one trying to come up to speed. Colby Vance and Tim Knott were involved in the third and final caution of the evening when contact was made out of turn two while Vance was fighting his way back up through the field.

The late race cautions allowed for Austin Davis to capitalize and take the second place position on the racing surface. However, Queen was just to good for anyone to mount a charge and would go on to collect yet another feature win. Austin Davis, Colby Vance, Steven Burnett, and Travis Wall would round out the top five finishers

With his sixth win of the season, Queen will enter championship night at the Las Vegas Bullring with a twenty point advantage over Burnett. Mathematically speaking all Queen will need to do is start the race to lock up the first ever CorvetteParts.net Super Late Model Tour Championship.
