Brenden Queen Wins Shop The Pig 125; Brings Win Total to Five with Three Races Left

Pensacola, FL - Brenden Queen captured win number five on the season at Five Flags Speedway earlier this month increasing his lead over Burnett and Kern in the tours official points standings. Coming off of his worst start of the year and honestly most troubling race at Concord, Queen had work to do after he and teammate Colby Vance received twenty point penalties following their on track activities the week before.

Steven Burnett, along with Colby Vance and Shawn Pierce, did not make things easy for the young driver. Burnett, in fact continue to ride his the momentum train so to speak and laid down the fastest lap of the afternoon in time trial qualifying to earn a season high third TWR Pole Award. The South Carolina driver and Max Rev Motorsports front man would hold Queen off for nine laps before he was over taken and Queen took off like a rocket.

The race was slowed just four times for nineteen laps – causing havoc on both the tires and the drivers – and only one car official retired from the competition. Canadian driver Shawn Pierce was the only other car to not finish on the lead lap after he was involved in a wreck towards the front of the field while he was tracking down the leaders as the laps clicked off. He and Colby Vance got the brunt of the trauma as the race came to a close – both being forced to finish outside the top five.

Jesse Call certainly earned the Hard Charger Award if those were being handed out this year as he missed the green flag and was forced to start from pit road – which all but starts you a full lap down to the leaders. With the help of some timely cautions and a missed gear from Justin Kern on the final restart of the night, Call was able to wrangle in a season high third place finish. Justin Kern and Craig Kenny completed the top five.
