Virginia Native Brenden Queen Claims Victory in First Race of the CorvetteParts.net Super Late Model
New Smyrna Beach, FL (December 11, 2017) - Steven Burnett picked up the Weekly Racer Pole Award earlier in the evening during time trial qualifying, earning him the right to lead the field to green for the 125-lap feature. Burnett would lead the first 30 laps until Connor Hall, of Hampton, VA, took the lead after contact with Burnett on a restart. Hall would lead sixty five laps before a late race caution would fly and stack the field back up. On the restart, Hall got back to the throttle before entering the restart box and jumped the start which ultimately ended his night. This opened the door for Brenden Queen, of Chesapeake, Virginia, to the lead. Queen would lead the last thirty laps of the feature on his way to victory lane, Colby Vance, also a Chesapeake, Virginia native would keep Queen honest up front. Vance would make several attempts to pass Queen with less that twelve laps to go, but just could not find the speed off the corner to get clear. Looking ahead to race number two, the question comes to mind; Will Queen stay on top or, will the other 17 drivers find a way to win at Lanier?
